Hello beautiful people!
I’m super psyched to be contributing to this blog with my non-sexual life partner Mark. We’ve been besties since we were 15 years old growing up at the Jersey shore doing musical theater together. More about that on our TEDx Talk.
Since we started Mark Fisher Fitness (MFF) in 2012 we have grown to be one of the most successful gyms in the history of the fitness industry. Within 3 years, MFF sky-rocketed from a single personal trainer to a staff of over 30, nearly 800 members, with our own studio in midtown Manhattan; earning is a spot in on the prestigious 2015 Inc. 500 list for fastest growing companies in America.
We’ve developed a reputation as the fitness home of choice for the Broadway community, and have been featured in Forbes, the NY Times, the NY Post, the Wall St. Journal, NY1, and more!
MFF has made waves in the fitness industry for its unprecedented growth, industry leading results, and unique take on fitness. Every day our team lives our our mantra of “Ridiculous Humans. Serious Fitness.”

I could NOT be more proud of what we’ve created and more excited about the future we continue to build every day. In this blog I’ll be sharing valuable lessons learned from life as a fitness business owner — the ups and downs, the strategies that worked like jet fuel for our business, and the ones that no one should ever repeat.
A little more about me.
Prior to MFF, I managed customer-centric teams throughout the U.S. for the world-class Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. After pursuing my graduate studies at Drexel University in arts administration I expanded my management skills to non-profit business, working as consultant for small/mid-sized performing arts organizations and for the Pew Charitable Trusts on their national arts and culture initiatives.
That experience in customer service and the non-profit sector forged my unique approach to business — creating values-based businesses driven by purpose over profit that are dedicating to providing world-class customer service.

I’m also a Certified Professional Life and Business Coach from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching.
Early in MFF’s development we learned that creating genuine human connection is KEY for success in the fitness business. We were often approached by Ninjas (aka Clients) who were challenged by complex personal and emotional obstacles during their fitness journey. We knew that if we were TRULY going to get Ninjas meaningful, lasting results we would need more tools for developing trust, overcoming emotional barriers, and building accountability. Life Coaching skills have proven to be one of our more powerful secret weapons!
One more thing you should know about me.
In this life I am dedicated to playing the BIGGEST game possible. That means that having an incredible personal life, a brilliant group of friends, and a thriving business just isn’t enough. I’m driven by a strong sense of social responsibility and desire to contribute to something larger than myself. To that end, in 2015 Mark and I co-founded the NYC-based charity called The Uprising.
The Uprising exists to empower an army of everyday superheroes to rise up and make a difference in the health and vitality of New York City. To know me is to know this work. Get into it at uprisingnyc.org!
